History of this Blog

I went to a conference back in July 2007 where I helped kick off the release of a great new group parenting blog GrowingKids.org. Part of my mission at this conference was to recruit bloggers for this new group blog. I hoped to find some experienced bloggers that could slide right into the saddle on GrowingKids.org. Instead of finding a ton of experienced bloggers I found that the majority of folks in the workshops at this conference needed a little education on what blogs were and how they worked. After showcasing a few blogs most people in the workshops wanted to know more about how to create and post information to a blog. The end result of my efforts was about two dozen bloggers signed up to blog on GrowingKids.org

That is where the idea for this blog came from. My thoughts were that if there were that many people at that (non-technical) parenting conference who were lacking of blog knowledge, then there must be other non-technical groups out there who could benefit from learning the basics of blogging. That is the core of why this site was created. This blog will teach the non-technical person how to build a blog from scratch. This blog will be the classroom and tuition is free. This blog will use text, pictures and video throughout the lessons to help provide a variety of learning options for each of the skills taught. It is my hope that you enjoy these lessons and share them with your friends.
